Our travel to Rome was very long and tiring , but we finally made it here. Such a bustling city with lots of trees around the streets, making it a lovely place. After finding our way from the airport and settling in we took a stroll in the neighbourhood near our hotel.

We noticed that so many buildings are really old, even our hotel looks old, but our hotel manager told us it’s not that old. He told us the story about how the building was started in 1881 on land that had been close to Roman baths centuries ago and became the government’s transportation department administration offices in the early 1900s (no wonder there’s a transportation hub close by), and it was turned into a hotel later on. We also found out that they didn’t want to ruin a historic part of an old Roman wall the was on the land so they kept it as part of a courtyard wall and under the hotel lobby – so cool.

After our walk we were getting hungry and decided to go to a little sidewalk pizza restaurant and try some real Italian pizza – it was so delicious!!!
