Today was a sailing day as we cruised back down the Moselle, returning to the Rhine. The people on the ship sure make ‘relaxation’ fun!

After breakfast we started going through some locks on the river (that’s a lock ahead on the left). So we decided to go to the talk all about locks and how they work. It’s was very interesting! We learned that the first locks were built by Ludwig, King of Bavaria in the mid 1800s. We also saw that there are sometimes a hydro electric station next to locks (the right side photo).
And, of course, we needed to get some walking in (don’t want to miss a day). The sundeck on the top of the ship has a perfect walking track and wonderful views along the way, like this hillside of vineyards.

After our walk we entered the poetry challenge organized by our friend, Kat. We had to write a new poem that starts with ‘Roses are red, violets are blue …’ I don’t think we’re very good at such things, but we gave it a try.
In the afternoon we joined in a Bocce Ball competition. Even though we were eliminated in the first round, we gave it a good try (and didn’t embarrass ourselves too much). So much fun!

After dinner it was time for ‘Juke Box Jury’. We had to pick 3 songs that would get the most people on the dance floor. Then the party started with all the dancing and silly fun.
